Firefly recruits and convenes a professional, experienced, and dedicated network of yoga teachers, clinicians, and social service providers. We have trained over 300 individuals (in four countries) on the principles and practice of trauma-informed yoga.
The Firefly Training* consists of a robust, evidence-supported, 30-hour curriculum developed in consult with leaders in trauma, trauma-informed yoga, and body-based methods of healing. Over three days, the training combines lecture, small and large group discussion, group activities, practice teaching, and trauma-informed yoga, breathing, and relaxation exercises. The training consists of 24 contact hours and 6 non-contact hours.
Upon completion of Firefly Training, participants have the knowledge, practical application skills, and understanding necessary to offer trauma-informed yoga classes to a variety of populations of trauma survivors in a safe and effective manner.
*The Firefly Training is a professional development training and is not intended as an intervention for personal healing/processing personal trauma. Talking about trauma, and the principles and practice of trauma-informed yoga may be triggering. The training is not intended for those currently in crisis.

"I was hesitant about a virtual training and my ability to stay engaged and truly benefit from an online platform
for such an intensive training. While I value the physical energy and presence of human connection, this training
was incredibly thoughtful of promoting engagement with the content and with the other trainees. With this interactive
training being online, I did not feel as though the platform was detrimental in any way. The online platform cultivated
a deep sense of connection and belonging that I am unsure could have been achieved in person. I felt comfortable
asking questions and sharing my opinions more than I do in person! Engaging in smaller groups increased connectivity
and captivated my attention. The facilitator is extremely knowledgeable and is dedicated to offering a fulfilling training experience for every trainee. I am honored to have participated in this training."
- Firefly Training Participant, Virtual Training
"This intense immersion into an entirely new approach to teaching yoga leaves me feeling equipped
to serve new populations I would not have considered before. Without the experience and knowledge of the
Firefly trainer I wouldn't know where to start. Instead, I am empowered with everything I need
to be an effective guide for those seeking healing from trauma. WOW!"
