I am not a trained yoga teacher, can I enroll in the Level 1 Firefly Training?

Yes! Though the Firefly Trainings are designed for those who have completed (or are currently enrolled in) a 200-hour yoga teacher training, we invite those from other professions to attend. Those who are not trained yoga teachers are best suited to attend if they already offer yoga or other somatic (body-based) practices with their clients. Practical application is a large component of the training, as such there are various opportunities for practice teaching. Participants may opt out of those experiences and may choose to practice as a student with their colleagues.

I have not completed the Level 1 Firefly Training, am I eligible to register for Level 2?

Maybe! The Level 2 Firefly Training on Trauma-Responsive Leadership was designed for those who have completed the Level 1 training. However, the Level 2 training is applicable to all leaders and we welcome those from other professions to attend on a case-by-case basis. Reach out to explore whether we’re a fit by emailing: info@fireflyyoga.org

Do I need prior trauma training to enroll?

No! The training curricula has been intentionally developed for both new and seasoned practitioners. As an evidence-supported training, the curricula is constantly updated with new information as it becomes available in this evolving field. Those with a background in trauma-training (including other trauma-informed yoga teacher trainings) have found added value in our approach and new insights from our model.

Do you offer group registration rates for entire studios or organizations?

Yes! We offer group rates to groups 5 or more. Completing the training as a group can support broader change within a studio or other organizational system. Additionally, we offer trauma-responsive design consulting services specifically for those in the wellness industry. Services include: organization/studio assessment, all staff training, as well as tailored trauma-responsive design addressing every level of a business, including: customer/client assessment, trauma-responsive material review (policies, procedures, handbooks, training curricula), assessment of physical environment, and consultation on marketing and communications.

Will I be a certified trauma-informed yoga teacher after the training?

No! There is no governing body (such as Yoga Alliance or the International Association of Yoga Therapists) that oversees and sets standards for trauma-informed training. As such, Firefly Yoga International deems it unethical to use the term “certified” and does not offer a certification in trauma-informed yoga. Completing the training does not provide certification, BUT you will be a trauma-informed yoga teacher. The Firefly Training is an educational course and not a psychotherapeutic certification, a substitute for therapy, or any other form of professional consultation or accreditation. There are therapeutic benefits of trauma-informed yoga and evidence demonstrates certain types of yoga to support those impacted by traumatic experiences. However, completing the Firefly Training with Firefly Yoga International does not qualify an individual to practice yoga therapy, certify an individual as a yoga therapist, or provide trauma-informed certification. All participants receive a certificate of completion that may be used for CEUs with Yoga Alliance.

Do you offer scholarships or payment plans?

Yes! Firefly Yoga International is committed to elevating those who have been historically marginalized and/or underrepresented in yoga spaces. In an effort to promote diversity, inclusion, belonging, and representation in yoga culture, we offer reduced rates for those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or a person who has a disability. Use code DIB22 to receive 10% off the training investment. To increase financial accessibility to the training, we offer a 3-month payment plan. Payment plans must be paid by check, include an additional 5% administration fee, and must be approved in advance by emailing: info@fireflyyoga.org. Please note all payments must be made in full prior to the first day of the training.
